ApiMailer is an email delivery platform built for developers. We provide a REST API and global SMTP relay network that lets you send transactional and marketing emails with high deliverability, real-time analytics, and simple integration.
Think of us as the infrastructure layer between your application and your users' inboxes. You focus on building your product — we make sure every email gets delivered.
ApiMailer supports all legitimate email use cases:
We do not permit unsolicited email (spam). All senders must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy.
ApiMailer is built on a distributed network of SMTP servers across 30+ locations worldwide. This architecture gives us three key advantages:
We also focus relentlessly on developer experience: a clean API, comprehensive SDKs, and no bloated UI you'll never use.
Most developers send their first email within 5 minutes. Sign up, verify your domain by adding a DNS record, grab your API key, and send. Our quickstart guide walks you through every step.
We provide official SDKs for Node.js, Python, Ruby, PHP, Go, Java, and C#/.NET. You can also use the REST API directly from any language that can make HTTP requests, or send via standard SMTP relay.
Yes. ApiMailer provides a full SMTP relay at smtp.apimailer.com on ports 25, 465 (SSL), and 587 (STARTTLS). Use your API key as the SMTP password. This is ideal for existing applications, CMS platforms like WordPress, or any system that already has SMTP support built in.
Yes. ApiMailer fires webhooks for all major email events: delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, complained, and unsubscribed. You configure webhook URLs in your dashboard or via the API. All webhook payloads are signed so you can verify authenticity.
Available on Growth plans and above.
Yes. You can create and manage templates via the API or dashboard. Templates support dynamic variables using {{variable}} syntax, conditionals, and loops. You can version templates and A/B test different variants.
You can also pass raw HTML or plain text directly in the API call if you prefer to manage templates on your side.
Yes. Configure an MX record pointing to ApiMailer and we'll parse incoming emails, extract headers, body, and attachments, then forward them to your webhook endpoint as structured JSON. This is great for building support inboxes, reply tracking, or any email-driven workflow.
Our platform average inbox placement rate is above 98%. Deliverability depends on many factors including your sending reputation, content quality, list hygiene, and authentication setup. We provide tools and guidance to help you maximise your deliverability.
Yes. When you verify your domain, we provide the exact DNS records you need for SPF and DKIM alignment. Our dashboard shows the verification status of each record and will alert you if anything falls out of compliance. We also provide DMARC reporting and guidance.
Yes. Dedicated IP addresses are available on Business plans and above. A dedicated IP means your sending reputation is entirely your own, isolated from other senders. We also offer an automated IP warm-up programme to build your reputation safely when starting on a new IP.
Our emails route through the SMTP server nearest to the recipient's mail provider. This reduces latency, avoids cross-continent hops, and often results in faster inbox placement. If any server in the network experiences issues, traffic automatically fails over to the next nearest node — so delivery is never interrupted.
Yes. Our Starter plan is completely free and includes 3,000 emails per month, 1 sending domain, full API and SMTP access, and basic analytics. No credit card required. It's a great way to test ApiMailer before committing to a paid plan.
We'll never cut you off mid-send. On paid plans, overage emails are billed at a small per-email rate (shown on the pricing page). On the free Starter plan, sending pauses when you hit the limit and resumes at the start of the next billing cycle. You can upgrade at any time to increase your limit immediately.
Yes. All plans are month-to-month with no long-term contracts. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from your dashboard at any time. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. There are no cancellation fees.
Security is foundational to our infrastructure. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We enforce TLS on every SMTP connection. Our platform runs on SOC 2 Type II compliant infrastructure with regular third-party security audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.
Yes. ApiMailer is fully GDPR compliant. We offer a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for all customers. We provide EU data residency options, and our platform supports the right to erasure — you can delete recipient data at any time via the API or dashboard. We never sell or share your data with third parties.
You can create multiple API keys with granular permissions — for example, a key that can only send email but cannot access analytics or manage domains. Keys can be rotated or revoked instantly from the dashboard. We recommend using separate keys for development and production environments.
Our team is ready to answer your questions and help you get the most out of ApiMailer.
